A Survey of Five Plant Viruses in Weeds and Tobacco in Poland

Weeds may contribute to the spread of plant virus epidemics by acting as reservoirs viruses or/and their vectors. The aim this research was study prevalence five viral pathogens in weeds fields solanaceous crops six provinces Poland differing with soil and climate conditions. Most sampled sites were associated tobacco production. total number 157 samples 600 subjected DAS-ELISA detection tomato spotted wilt orthotospovirus (TSWV), cucumber mosaic (CMV), potato Y (PVY), (TMV) ringspot (TRSV). Twenty nine percent infected at least one virus. TSWV TMV most frequently detected 17.5% 14.7% samples, respectively. In where found, same also weeds.
